Head Teller

Location: American National Bank Walmart Branch, 120 Frances Lane, Beaver Dam, WI 

Status: Full – time hourly position

Hours: Hours worked are during the branch’s hours of operation which are: 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sunday. Weekend hours are on a rotation basis. This is a 40 hour per week position with the possibility of overtime during staff vacations and other staffing shortages.

Job Summary: The head teller is responsible for providing supervision of the teller area and performing other operational supervisory tasks. Responsible for providing a variety of customer service functions involving the receipt and payment of money. Promotes the bank’s products and services and assists customers in establishing accounts. The head teller is responsible for managing the branch in the manager’s absence. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • In conjunction with the branch manager, supervise the tellers and oversee all aspects of the teller area including, but not limited to: providing overrides for transactions, overseeing work to ensure accuracy, thoroughness and a high level of customer service, assisting tellers in balancing at the end of the day, preparing staff schedules and training new tellers.

  • Perform decision-making responsibilities in the absence of the branch manager.

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships to enhance the customer experience at the bank and generate customer loyalty.

  • Accurately process all routine transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and check cashing in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Provide leadership and coaching to the tellers in the areas of aisle prospecting, customer service, sales techniques, referrals, and product knowledge.

  • Open new personal and business deposit accounts, identify the financial needs of new and existing customers and cross sell appropriate products and services and make qualified referrals.

  • Responsible for vault cash including supplying and receiving cash to/from tellers, monitoring vault currency and coin levels, placing orders for currency with the Federal Reserve, processing incoming shipments and balancing the vault.

  • Assist the branch manager in overseeing the creation and implementation of promotional activities by the branch’s team.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience, preferably in a retail setting.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills as well as a positive outgoing personality and attitude.
  • Ability to identify customer needs & refer bank products and services
  • Ability to work a schedule that will vary from week to week. Must be able to work early weekday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Demonstrated strong problem solving, decision making, management and supervisory skills.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task
  • Previous teller or related experience is preferred, but not a requirement.

Loan Processor

Location: The American National Bank, 115 Front Street, Beaver Dam, WI

Status: Full-time hourly position

Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. 

Position Summary: The loan processor is responsible for gathering, ordering, and following up on all required documents to process loans, preparing preliminary and final loan documents, maintaining files and performing a variety of miscellaneous loan-related clerical tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and mail all pertinent early disclosure material to ensure compliance with initial truth-in-lending guidelines.
  • Order appraisals, credit reports, flood certifications, loan payoffs, title insurance and other documentation as needed for the processing of the loan file.
  • Enter customer and loan information into the loan documentation software and prepare all necessary documents to close the loan.
  • Responsible for ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate and complies with federal regulations and company policy.
  • Organize and prepare loan packages to be submitted to the secondary market.
  • Responsible for meeting crucial deadlines.
  • Responsible for communicating with loan officers to keep them abreast of the status of loan files, report any problems, and ensure loan documents are accurate and complete prior to closing.
  • Perform procedures to balance the loan-related general ledger accounts to the loan system.
  • Assist customers with inquiries or problems.
  • Perform loan file maintenance and other miscellaneous clerical tasks.
  • Manage the pipeline of pending loans.
  • Assist in overseeing compliance with all lending-related federal and state regulations through participation on the bank’s Compliance Committee.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in loan processing or similar loan operations experience. Experience in commercial loan processing, USDA, FHLB and/or WHEDA is a plus.
  • Must possess a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to prioritize to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to remain calm, work well under pressure, and manage high volumes of work is necessary.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are a must.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Must possess tact and the ability to effectively relate to customers, fellow employees, outside vendors and any others involved in the lending process.
  • Possess a “do whatever it takes” mentality to take on challenges, meet deadlines, and provide excellent customer service to the loan officers and borrowers.
